This was a project I worked on while being employed by Human Dynamo Workshop based in Wellington, New Zealand.
The blue whale heart was created to be 1:1 scale with the real thing and is these days travelling around the world, visiting different museums. Equipped with monitors inside the heart, it is hoped to help educate people about blue whales.
Made out of polystyrene and fiberglass. I worked on sculpting, fiberglassing, bogging and reinforcing the heart. Beautiful paint job done by Sue Dorrington of Human Dynamo Workshop!
